Common Issue: Dodge
Actuators
Dodge has a common issue with fixing actuators. From trucks to Chargers, they have a common problem with actuators. They’re made of plastic and break frequently. This requires the dash to be removed. Actuators impact the cooling system inside the vehicle. You’ll notice a problem with the airflow and temperature regulating system. It might have issues changing from floor to vent; that, again, is an issue. They also give off a repetitive loud clicking sound behind the dash. Dodge sells a kit that changes the doors to metal instead of the plastic that breaks.
Common Issue: Ford 5.4 Liter Triton V
Ford 5.4 Liter Triton V.8 has a reputation for its engine problems. If the oil isn’t replaced regularly, they need full engine replacements. To prevent a full engine replacement, keep the engine oil clean by changing the oil every 3,000 to 5,000 miles with synthetic oil.
Common Issue: GM 3.6 Models
The GM 3.6 model, in particular. This is on Traverse, Equinox, and Enclave. If you’ve been in both of these models, you’ll notice they’re almost identical. They use the same interior and engine components.
The timing chain is a costly repair in labor as it requires a lot of work. There’s a greater chance that it will need to be replaced if it hasn’t been replaced.
Common Issue: GM Models with AFM & DFM
Models with Active Ruel Management, AFM, DFM, and Dynamic Fuel Management Systems have issues. It’s possible to remove the system to delete the software or remove the system. Models with AFM are 2014 or newer with 5.3 L, 6.0 L, and 6.2 L Engines. These are models that had a class action lawsuit filed against GM for the fuel system.
Common Issue: GM Models with 3.1 or 3.4 V6 Models
They have intake manifold or head gasket issues that can leak fluid and ruin the engine. If it’s maintained, these issues can be avoided. The leak can damage the bearings.
